The real landmark of the new Etoy complex is an elegant plasticity featuring reflective glass and metal surfaces. Heka has created for i.LIFE the new design centre that groups all professionals in the world of construction, real estate and interior design. Structured in a vast and functional complex, the mall offers, in addition to offices, exhibition areas, restaurants and relaxation areas, also a kindergarten. The structure consists of two buildings connected by an elevated volume; in front of these there is a third curved building. The suspended structure is the access to the central square and a large window overlooking the landscape. The Etoy façade consists of metal elements, industrial chromatic pilaster strips, which create a consummate play of lights and shadows, giving the exterior a strong sculptural dynamism which makes the entire complex unique. The large inset glass surfaces which interrupt the metallic material, exalt the interior spaces. While dynamism identifies the upper floors of the architectural works, the lower façade is characterized by flat metal surfaces that alternate with large windows. An unconventional design building, supported by innovative technologies and materials, aiming at the energetic efficiency of the complex. The façade was designed as a dry construction system: metal substructure, sandwich panel cladding, aluminum composite panel covering. The sheathing features highly performing materials which make the building more functional and in step with the current logic of sustainability. The openings, designed to ensure the interior light comfort in relation to use throughout the day, feature a movable venetian blind cased in triple glass sheets. In this project Heka has acted as the general contractor of the secondary and finishing works. The construction site has developed in different stages: from the installation of the façades to the interior finishes and the construction of the square. A strict planning has made the achievement possible within the timing established. Co-operation with the other on-site companies and the coordination of our resources has been fundamental to the smooth running of the works. A constant supervision has led the facade assembly teams using a dry technology designed specifically for this project. Strict monitoring of the implementation phases has allowed to meet the timing and budget set in the preliminary stages of the project for customers entire satisfaction.
